Luminarie Lane Market – Terms & Conditions

1. Introduction
These Terms & Conditions ("Terms") set out the rules for trading at and visiting Luminarie Lane (the "Market").
The Market is operated and managed by Jaeger Events Ltd ("we", "our", "us"), a company registered in England and Wales with company number 10713171 and registered office at Suite RA01, 195–197 Wood Street, London, E17 3NU.
By booking a stall or trading at the Market, you agree to be bound by these Terms. Sections 7 and 11 also apply to visitors as market rules; however, general admission to Hyde Park Winter Wonderland is managed separately by the venue operator and is not governed by these Terms.
2. Who We Are
Jaeger Events Ltd is the organiser and operator of Luminarie Lane, a curated marketplace featuring a range of independent traders, artisans, and producers.
We are responsible for:
- Approving and managing trader participation
- Setting operational rules and safety requirements
- Managing market schedules and logistics
3. Traders – Applications and Stall Allocation
- All traders must apply and be approved before attending the Market.
- Stalls are allocated at our discretion, based on availability and market mix.
- Traders must provide accurate information about the goods they intend to sell.
- Sub-letting or sharing stalls without our written consent is prohibited.
4. Trader Fees and Payment
- Stall fees and payment deadlines will be stated in the booking confirmation.
- Fees must be paid in full before the event. Unpaid bookings will be cancelled.
- Refunds will only be issued in accordance with our cancellation policy (see Section 9).
5. Trader Responsibilities
Traders must:
- Comply with all applicable UK laws, including trading standards, consumer rights, food safety (if applicable), and health and safety regulations.
- Hold relevant licences, insurance, and permits where required.
- Ensure their stall is safe, tidy, and staffed during trading hours.
- Display prices clearly and trade honestly.
- Remove all waste and leave their pitch clean within 24 hours of market close.
We reserve the right to remove any trader who breaches these rules.
6. Prohibited Goods and Intellectual Property
The following are not permitted at Luminarie Lane:
- Counterfeit or pirated goods
- Weapons, firearms, or explosives
- Offensive or discriminatory material
- Live animals (except assistance animals)
- Any items prohibited by law
Traders warrant that all goods offered for sale do not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights. Each trader remains solely responsible for the quality and safety of their goods under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.
7. Visitors – Market Rules
Visitors to Luminarie Lane are expected to:
- Treat traders, staff, and other visitors respectfully
- Supervise children at all times
- Comply with any safety instructions given by market staff
- Not bring prohibited items into the market area
We may refuse entry to, or remove from the Market area, individuals who disrupt the event or breach these rules.
8. Market Operations and Force Majeure
Market dates, opening hours, and layout will be communicated in advance.
We may change, postpone, or cancel market dates due to circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: severe weather, government restrictions or regulations, pandemic or public health measures, civil unrest, utility failures, or other force majeure events.
Traders and visitors must follow all site safety and crowd management procedures.
9. Cancellations and Refunds
By Traders:
- Cancellations must be made in writing to traders@luminarielane.com.
- A full refund of stall fees will be given if cancellation is received at least 60 days before the first day of the Market.
- Cancellations received between 30 and 59 days before the Market will receive a 50% refund.
- No refund will be given for cancellations made fewer than 30 days before the Market.
By Organiser:
- If the Market is cancelled by us, traders will receive a full refund of stall fees paid.
- We are not liable for any additional losses (e.g., travel, stock, or accommodation costs).
10. Liability
- Traders are responsible for their own goods, equipment, and personal safety.
- We accept no liability for theft, loss, or damage to trader or visitor property.
- Traders must hold their own public liability insurance (minimum £5,000,000 cover recommended).
- Nothing in these Terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
11. Photography and Promotion
We may take photographs or videos during the Market for promotional purposes.
By attending, you consent to your image being used in our marketing materials unless you notify us otherwise in writing at traders@luminarielane.com prior to the event.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
13. SMS and Email Marketing
During the stall application process, you may choose to opt in to receive marketing messages from Jaeger Events Ltd about Luminarie Lane and related events. We will only send marketing communications where you have given your explicit consent.
You can withdraw your consent at any time by:
- Replying STOP to an SMS
- Clicking "unsubscribe" in an email
- Contacting us at traders@luminarielane.com
We will never sell your contact details to third parties. All communications comply with the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR).
